I’m Jake Kring-Schreifels, a sports and entertainment writer, who grew up in Philadelphia — moved to Seattle — and then moved back. I earned a Communications degree at Fordham University, where I also covered college and professional sports for WFUV radio, and developed an interest in writing about movies and entertainment.
I started my career covering the Mets and Yankees during the 2014 season as an associate beat reporter for MLB.com before joining the Washington Redskins at the end of the year. I’ve worked there since, as a website staff writer and editor of publications, and live in the Washington, D.C. metro area.
This blog’s original purpose was to give me a place to write film reviews and features, to house my extracurricular work, and has taken on various forms over the years, including as host of a weekly podcast about movies. Outside of sports, I have done work for a variety of publications and magazines, including Esquire, The Atlantic, Paste, Thrillist and The National, among others, and covered multiple film festivals and major sporting events.
